Understand and configure Trade Levels
Learn how the optional Trade Levels display calculates entry, stop-loss, take-profit, and position-size estimates from volatility and your saved settings.
Trade Levels is an optional calculation display on Dashboard cards. It uses an analysis's entry price and volatility data, together with settings you choose, to estimate a stop-loss price, take-profit price, and share count. It is off by default and available on every plan.
Trade Levels are mathematical estimates for research and education. They are not personalized financial advice or a recommendation to place a trade.
Turning it on
Go to Settings → Trade Settings and enable Show Trade Levels on dashboard. Once on, cards that include volatility data show an expandable Trade Levels section.
How the numbers are calculated
- Volatility multiplier (σ) — sets the stop distance as a multiple of the asset's daily volatility. The default is 1.5× daily volatility.
- Reward / risk (R:R) — sets the take-profit distance relative to the stop distance. The default is 1:1.
- Max loss per trade — the dollar amount you're willing to risk if the stop is reached. It is used to calculate an estimated share count. The default is $100.
For a bullish analysis, the calculated stop is below the entry price and the take-profit price is above it. For a bearish analysis, the stop is above the entry price and the take-profit price is below it.
Important
- Your settings change only the calculations displayed to you. They do not change the stored analysis.
